This week we started recorders in music. In gym we started to play basketball.  Some people presented their novel study. We do not have school on Friday. Yay!!!!

Last week, we presented novel study's we also presented are sky science posters. We helped the grade ones with their computer skills, with the grade 2/3 we did a snowman painting but instead of paint brushes we used cotton swabs. The groups continued to work on Iroquois projects in each group we are learning about different things that they did. We started a new music unit with recorders we with the song hot cross buns. In vocab if you made mistakes you have to write the word out 100 times and with no mistakes get a bean and a point. We started a new class novel called the" Land of Stories"at the end we are making a title page.The class is really interested in the book.

This week we started our sky science posters. We finished our class novel (The Faraway Tree) and all of us did a project for the Faraway Tree they all looked great. In gym we played some volley ball games. In music we are preparing for recorders. Then in social studies we are making modes of the Iroquois and writing about them too and we had a math test. We had a good, good week .

 

You may have noticed we were missing last week. It was a short 3 day week and we had some technical difficulties with the blog. Thanks to Artur and his Dad we now have a working class telescope that students can borrow to study the night skys. We are keeping active in Phys.Ed. class learning volleyball. We continue to learn new songs on the xylephones and will be starting recorders in music.

This week  HOJA came to our school! It was really cool that we got to talk to them. Lots of kids got autographs! We started our volleyball unit in gym class. We also recently started our sky science in science and Iroquois confederacy in social. We are learning alot about planets and the Iroquios. We also read a story about the Iroquios. We had our Rememberence Day acemmbly. After lots of practicing, we did a very good job when performing and got some complements from the teachers. In music we played a few games of Musical Bingo, It was really fun! The week was very busy but we all had alot of fun!

We enjoyed our visit to the Epcor center this week, we learned about big cats with Steve Winters. When we came back we prepared for our test that we had on Wednesday, we studied in groups. The test was super hard! We worked super hard in our math books. Our novel studies were due this week, we also did the presentations. All of the projects were great. In gym we are learning how to play volleyball. We are working really hard to make the Rememberace Day assembly perfect, we are learning some pieces of music for the assembly. Thursday was a spooky day! There are some spooky costumes and some adorable costumes. We are going to have a celebration on Thursday. We are having Student-Led conferences on Thursday night and Friday.

This week we played dodgeball and capture the flag in gym. We are doing lots of T-tables in math. We even did our trees and forest test. It was diffcult. At lunch some of us played soccer, teatherball, and four- square. We also finished Ancient Greece. Our test is next week. Our work is up on the wall. We started preparing for the Rememberance assembly. We are learning a song and some of it has solo parts. We finished our first term of Daily 5 L.A activities. Mrs.Magee helped in our classroom. We read and played with our grade.3 buddies. We have been reading The Faraway Tree! It is adventurous, mistical, and you never know what will happen next. The end of every chapter leaves us hanging!
