March 19, 2015
This week was short, but still jam-packed with things to do! We went swimming throughout the whole week and had a blast! A lot of us learned new skills! We finished our class novel called The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell. We had to write a page about it and draw a picture of something from the book. We also measured our shadows. They are a lot shorter than before! Lastly, we did our novel studies. In them, a lot of us made creative projects and a very tasty cake too! We are having our spring break from today, all the way today all the way to April 7th! YAY!

This week we had A lady named Narda that was from the John Howard society, we did role plays and she thought us about John Howard and what she did at her work.

We finished our class book the Land of Stories the Wishing Spell it was a great book and lots of us want to read more of the series, now we are doing a writing about the book and a picture.
We also finished James and Giant Peach, but it was a school wide novel and not just our class. Now we are doing a contest where we have to make a new cover for the book and some kids are already started.

Some kids in our class did a nutritious play to the grade 1s. We all thought that it was fun and the kids in our class that did it worked really hard on practicing.
On this Thursday we just started swimming at ThornCliff Pool and the kids are already having lots of fun. We've learned lots already! The kids/ instructors work hard to keep going and have fun.

March Begins!

This week was very sunny! We went to watch curling at the Saddle Dome! It was amazing! We got to see lots of teams including Alberta. We met Brier Bear and he even gave out some prizes. This week our Aboriginal  Legends were due. In them, we had a picture of the constellation you wrote about (You had to do at least five). In the writing part, you had to write an Aboriginal and Greek summary. In   Science we did Science centers. In the Science centers we did different activities about evidence and investigation! We had lots of fun! We also measured our shadows, they're a lot shorter than before. Everyone got their own school gmail accounts. These are important for writing projects that students can do at home. We have been reading two books in class. The first one is a book we are reading school- wide. It is called James and the Giant Peach. We are also reading a class novel. It is the Land of Stories. We are almost done the book, it just had a major twist. Every student is wondering whats going to happen! This was a long week but we enjoyed it!
